The new club jerseys arrived - I think that I can confidently say that those who wanted better visibility (to other road users) will be happy!

A key date in May appears to have been the 6th when the following members were in action ..

Tim Summerhayes [report by Steve S] .. On the super quick R25/7 course in South Wales Tim Summerhayes posted a solid 54:27 averaging over 27mph for the 25miles. Conditions were chilly and hard on the return, overall a good but not easy day. Still focusing on endurance in his tri training (in preparation for an iron man event in June) Tim is short on speed and lost out on the fast outward leg.

Rob Heathcote/Mike Dix [report by Rob] .. Rode the SRC two up today. Mike after his short Team Tor membership, was riding a very smooth and fast warm up when disaster struck ,first a slow puncture on the rear tub, then the back brake locking tight on the wheel. The last time we rode this event together my brake lever fell off. I rode a solo ride it was cold and the return leg was tough (well I found it tough) came home with 24.14.

Paul Smyth .. Paul completed an excellent ride on the Somerset Hills Medio Fondo. It was his second sportive of the year and whilst he found it tough he finished in an excellent time. Results here.

On the 13th, Tim Summerhayes took part in the Charlotteville CC 50mile Time Trial at Farnham Hampshire. Although having an off day his time of 2:01:55 was probably not too bad in his first 50mile TT, more so as he had the day before put in a hard 60 mile bike and 10 mile run as part of his Tri training! [report by Steve S].

On the 13th I (Mike Broadley) should have been taking part in the Taunton Deane Tri. The day before I had a chronic nosebleed and whilst I may have been OK on Sunday I was concerned in case it started bleeding again in the pool - not good for me and not nice for other entrants! So, I was reduced to the role of spectator at least gave me the oportunity to video Geraldine and my friend Geoff competing.

Throughout May, various members competed in the weekly TTs held by Somerset RC - you can see the results here.
